Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Ringlee AI ("Ringlee", "we", "us") handles information when a Shopify merchant installs our app and when we contact their shoppers to recover abandoned carts. Plain language, no surprises.

1. Who is responsible for your data

When a merchant uses Ringlee, the merchant is the data controller of their shoppers' information and Ringlee acts as a data processor on their behalf. We only process shopper data to provide cart-recovery on the merchant's instructions.

2. Information we process

  • Merchant account details — name, email, store URL and billing information needed to run your account.
  • Shopper details from your store — name, phone number, email, cart contents, order value and abandonment events, shared by Shopify so we can reach out.
  • Call & message data — call recordings or transcripts, SMS content, timestamps, outcomes and opt-out status, used to recover the sale and improve quality.
  • Usage data — log and device information about how the app and dashboard are used.

3. How we use it

  • To place recovery calls and send follow-up texts about abandoned carts.
  • To apply discounts, share checkout links and report results back to you.
  • To maintain compliance — honouring consent, quiet hours and Do-Not-Call requests.
  • To provide support, prevent abuse and improve the service.

4. Calls, recordings and consent

Ringlee makes automated voice calls and sends SMS on the merchant's behalf. Merchants are responsible for having a lawful basis to contact their shoppers and for any consent required in their region. We provide tools to respect opt-ins, quiet hours and one-tap opt-outs, and we suppress numbers on Do-Not-Call lists.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share data only with service providers that help us operate — for example telephony and SMS carriers, cloud hosting, and speech/AI processing — under contracts that keep your data confidential. We never sell personal data.

6. Data retention

We keep shopper data only as long as needed to provide recovery and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it. Merchants can request deletion of their data at any time.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Shoppers can opt out of contact at any time, and any request can be sent to the address below.

8. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls and regular reviews to protect data. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to keep yours safe.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves. We'll change the "last updated" date above and, for significant changes, let merchants know inside the app.
